If there were such a thing as the most selfie-d elevator in Vancouver, the one at the new Douglas hotel would be the winner.
There are tens of thousands of photos on Instagram with the hashtag #elevatorselfie, and now this unique lightbulb-and-mirrored Vancouver lift has become an essential selfie-snapping spot.
The Douglas is a boutique-style hotel that's part of the epic Parq Vancouver casino complex, newly-opened at the downtown end of the Cambie Bridge. Aesthetics are clearly a priority at these posh digs, and in the Instagram-era, there's a lot to capture with your smartphone camera.
In addition to the trippy elevator, The Douglas has some excellent neon, a stunner of a bar (that even has a secret private room you access via a bookcase's hidden door), a wall covered in greenery, a front desk that's an illuminated glass-boxed tree trunk, and well-appointed guest rooms--if you're lucky enough to be staying the night.
But, seriously, that elevator though. It's pretty hard to resist, trust me.
