Flats Fest's second annual free community event takes place Sept. 7, 2024, in the area dubbed "South Flats" near Emily Carr University on Great Northern Way in Vancouver.

Flats Fest is back. The second edition of the free, family-friendly festival is set for Sept. 7, bringing live music, a kids' zone and not one but two marketplaces to the False Creek Flats.

Hosted by Low Tide Properties, one of the real estate companies owned by local billionaire Chip Wilson, the community event also includes an "Innovation Zone" meant to showcase the work being done in the neighbourhood being branded as South Flats.

"From cutting-edge projects to mind-bending VR experiences, the Innovation Zone is an exciting new addition to Flats Fest," reads the event site.

There will also be a site-wide license for the beer garden, featuring brews from the Red Truck Beer Company (located nearby), Strathcona Beer Company, and others.

Food vendors include popular roaming operations like Taco Nori (featuring sushi tacos), WakWak burgers, and the Rain or Shine ice cream truck, plus neighbourhood businesses like Nemesis and Kafka's.

The live music stage will feature performances the whole day, with acts like Fionn, Mauvey, and headliners the Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer.
