Local educator and literacy advocate, Kellie Diguangco, just launched a fantastic summer reading/adventure program for kids aged 4-12!
Get Out and Read is part reading program, part scavenger hunt and it'll make a great project for your kids, keeping them into books and then outside the house. The way it works is that you sign up online, then choose from a list of 60 suggested books. Read one then solve a clue on it and you'll be given GPS coordinates to a spot to explore, where there'll be a box . For each book a kid completes they're given an online badge, and kids who earn 10 of them are eligible for prizes! And one of the prizes is ice cream!
