Granville Island is one of Vancouver's prized attractions, beloved by locals and visitors alike. Known for its public market, artist's studios, shops, and plenty of nautical charm, there isn't much more that could make a visit to the destination any more fun. Except maybe if it had its own ferris wheel.
This week, Vancouverites got a glimpse of what a ferris wheel - and a whole little carnival - might look like at Granville Island, except it turned out to be just a little small screen magic.
"Sorry kids, it's just a TV set," tweeted Granville Island's official Twitter account.
Specifically, the carnival and ferris wheel were set up for the show Charmed, the 2018 WB network reboot of the original, which ran from 1998 to 2006. The updated Charmed "follows the lives of three sisters—Macy (Madeleine Mantock), Mel (Melonie Diaz) and Maggie (Sarah Jeffery)—who, after the death of their mother, discover they are The Charmed Ones, the most powerful trio of good witches, who are destined to protect innocent lives from demons and other dark forces."
So, literally, TV magic.

"I got all excited, until I realized they were just shooting a movie," tweeted Caitlyn Bairstow, who also was delighted by the prospect of catching a ferris wheel ride at Granville Island.
