As part of a focus to reclaim Indigenous sexuality, the Museum of Anthropology (MOA) at UBC is presenting an evening of burlesque entertainment called "Night Shift: Untamed."
The exciting and decidedly grown-up event will feature Virago Nation and DJ Kookum joining forces to crank up the sights and sounds on the catwalk for an evening of "humour, seduction, and striptease."

Virago Nation was created in May 2016 with the aim of taking back Indigenous sexuality "from the toxic effects of colonization."
"We believe that all people, especially Indigenous women, deserve a healthy, fun relationship with their bodies and we work to promote that expression. This is our reconciliation," declares the group.
The performers will be backed by Dene/Cree Filmmaker and DJ Cheyanna Kootenhayoo, who is known as DJ Kookum and for throwing out the hip hop, rap, trap, R&B, and EDM beats in Vancouver.
Night Shift is MOA’s monthly cabaret party that reimagines the future of culture and social change. Attendance is free with museum admission.
