The pop-up patio at the Kitsilano Beach concession is being run by Batch.

Kitsilano Beach's concession stand just got an upgrade.

The popular beach is now home to a new pop-up patio and burger shack which will run every weekend until the end of September. The patio is a partnership between the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and Batch, the crew serving food and drinks out of a shipping container at the Plaza of Nations.

The menu will include salmon fillet burgers and fish and chips along with more typical concession fare like hot dogs and onion rings.

"Guests can enjoy live music featuring local musicians and beverage offerings that include beer, wine, cider, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options," states the park board.

The pop-up patio's alcohol service is limited, but the concession will have longer hours.

"While alcohol service is only available on weekends from Friday to Sunday, noon to 10 pm, the concession stand will be open Wednesday to Sunday from 11 am to dusk, weather permitting," states the board.

The pop-up is located next to the Kitsilano Showboat and the pool. The Kits pool, however, will not be open this summer, as the facility needs extensive work to repair leaks. The Showboat's 2024 season runs June 21 through July 28, with free programming at the historic venue.
