Fans who couldn't snag tickets to Taylor Swift's sellout "Eras Tour" can still watch the pop star perform on the big screen.
Swift announced on Thursday (Aug. 31) on all her social media platforms that a cinematic concert experience is coming to theatres across North America on Oct. 13. The Taylor Swift The Eras Tour movie documents the singer's ongoing sixth concert tour which pays homage to her albums and musical eras.
"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far," Swift says in the announcement. "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged."
However, a link to the movie tickets, which went on sale the same day as the announcement, shared by Swift on Instagram and other social media led some fans to worry that the movie would only be available in theatres across the U.S.
How to watch the "Taylor Swift The Eras Tour" movie in Canada?
The movie ticket link that Taylor Swift shared on her Instagram story is for AMC Theaters, a U.S. movie theatre chain.
Does this mean Canadian Swifties are out of luck?
While Canadians won't have as many theatres to choose from, Cineplex, which has five locations in the city of Vancouver and a total of 13 theatres across Metro Vancouver, will also be playing the Eras Tour concert movie starting Oct. 13.
The cinema chain also included an Easter egg for fans at checkout.
Many Vancouver fans rushed to snag a cinema ticket. "Probably the closest thing I'll get to seeing the Eras Tour," writes one fan on social media. "Just got tickets for Eras tour (working girls's version)," says another.
