Swifties in Vancouver and around the world (thanks, social media!) watched as a large lighted sign reading "SWIFTCOUVER" was set up along the city's waterfront.
With Taylor Swift set to arrive in Vancouver for her final three Eras Tour shows on December 6, 7, and 8, the city is aglow with excitement and ways to welcome the global superstar to town.
As it turns out, the "Swiftcouver" sign is one of 13 installations around Vancouver. Keen-eyed locals have also spotted large, light-studded letters reading "Betty," (a song from Swift's Folklore album, and "Willow" (from its sibling release, Evermore).
Locals have also spotted "Down Bad" from The Tortured Poets Department near Pacific Centre and "Anti-Hero" off Midnights near the waterfront, too.
The signs have all been set up at some fantastic locations that visitors to Vancouver may want to see while in town for the show, from English Bay to Gastown and Science World to Granville Island.
Don't worry if you aren't sure where to look for the signs. You don't have to draw a map on your bedroom ceiling; there's a map that shows all the locations of the 13 illuminated Swift signs around Vancouver (see slide 2).
The signs are the work of Destination Downtown, a month-long activation that not only includes the Swift lights scavenger hunt (yes, you can win Eras Tour concert tickets through it) but also a holiday Ferris wheel at the Vancouver Art Gallery plaza, live entertainment, and more family-friendly seasonal fun.
The contest for Eras Tour tickets runs from Nov. 29 to Dec. 6 (just like clockwork), so if being in the "Enchanted" crowd of BC Place is still one of your "Wildest Dreams," this is one more shot.
