'The Last of Us' stars spotted on post-apocalyptic Vancouver film sets

The popular HBO post-apocalyptic drama stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey.

Locals shared photos and videos from The Last of Us filming its second season in multiple locations across Vancouver over the past week.

The popular HBO show is a post-apocalyptic zombie drama starring Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent), Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones), and Nico Parker (Dumbo).

Bear & Creek Productions notified Downtown Eastside residents of filming overnight from July 12 to 13 on the 300-500 blocks of Raymur Avenue (see slide 14). 

The DTES film shoot included scenes where actors ran on Raymur Avenue between East Cordova and Union streets, animals on set, picture vehicles, and a camera vehicle. The crew wet streets with a water truck and lifting lights were used to illuminate the area. Blank gunfire and prop weapons were also used for a portion of filming.

A New Westminster resident shared a photo of lead actor Bella Ramsey on set, who plays Ellie on the hit show. He noted that Ramsey's tattoo is a "great touch" in his post on X, formerly Twitter (see slide 12).

He also shared photos of other actors on set working during Vancouver's first summer heat wave.

An individual who goes by Laura Dreaming on X shared "behind the scenes" photos of actors on set. 

Several people shared photos and videos of The Last of Us shoots in the DTES and Stanley Park, featuring weathered-looking vehicles, graffiti, and other post-apocalyptic touches.

Season one of The Last of Us was filmed in Alberta, generating over $182 million and creating 1,490 jobs.
