Why you should go: Because who doesn't love the opportunity for an adults only evening at a place normally reserved for day trips with the family? These adult friendly nights are cropping up in some unusual and interesting places (Science World, Police Museum to name a few) and should be taken advantage of. Immersion is an exclusive evening event for adults to enjoy music, entertainment and cocktails in an inspiring venue. Interact with our 70,000 amazing creatures and engage in new experiences at the Aquarium.

Why you should go: Olio Festival is a multi-media arts festival locally curated and self-financed by promoters & lovers of Independent Music, Comedy, Film & Art within the city of Vancouver. Originally drawing inspiration from successful festivals such as Pop Montreal, SXSW, Calgary's Sled Island, Seattle's Capitol Hill Block Party & local festival Music Waste, Olio experienced an unquestionably successful debut in 2009. Now in its second year, Olio is another step closer to being among the best of Vancouver's definitive cultural destinations and a bona fide force in the festival circuit.

Vancouver International Film Festival

Why you should go: Both in terms of admissions and number of films screened (149,135 and 379 respectively in 2009) VIFF is among the five largest film festivals in North America. They screen films from 80 countries on 10 screens. The international line-up includes the pick of the world’s top film fests and many undiscovered gems.
