Not all who wander are lost, but it might be hard to tell one from the other in this year's Chilliwack Corn Maze.
The massive plant-based activity is opening on Aug. 14 this year. This year the paths will create a night sky over mountains and a forest with the word 'wander' near the middle of the maze.
"Our hope for this year is to ignite an eagerness in children and adults to find the joy around them wherever they are and wherever they go," say the owners of the maze in a press release. "Our message to the community is that beauty and happiness are all around us if we take the time to look for it. A reminder to stay present as you wander through life."
The maze will also feature a walking storyboard featuring The Boy Who Spoke to the Earth. It tells the story of a boy who asks Earth where he might find happiness and Earth responds by sending him on a journey, fitting with the concept behind this year's maze.
"Our goal in the creation of each design is to make sure that the message in our field is something positive that would help encourage and spread light throughout our community," say the owners.
The corn maze first opens up Saturday, Aug. 14, with a grand opening celebration on Saturday, Aug. 21. The grand opening will include extra entertainment like a balloon artist at midday and a concert with the Tanner Olsen Band from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
