The longest-running offshore fireworks competition in the world returns to Vancouver this summer.
The 2025 Honda Celebration of Light will illuminate Vancouver's skies for three nights this July, offering a dazzling pyrotechnic display from a barge in English Bay.
The event will draw thousands of spectators to the West End and neighbouring Kits Point for competitions on July 19, 23, and 26.
Organizers will announce the participating countries and teams in the coming weeks. They will also include additional event details and a "very unique twist on the 2025 event," according to an Instagram post.
Archangel Fireworks works with the festival organizers to find the best teams worldwide to partake in the competition.
Team Pyrotex Fireworx from the United Kingdom won the People's Choice Award in last year's competition. The team is widely touted for the "originality and pure emotion" it brings to shows. Portugal and Malaysia also competed in the 2024 festival.
Multiple food trucks will be on site throughout the event, offering an array of culinary choices for hungry attendees.
Festival-goers should arrive early, ahead of large crowds. Parking is limited in the area, and they should be prepared to walk long distances from their parking spot to view the display.
Several road closures will be in effect during the competition in the West End, and some areas will only permit residents to drive through. If possible, take public transportation.
