Horror and literary fans alike will be excited to hear that a hotly-anticipated new show is currently filming in Vancouver.
American filmmaker Mike Flanagan brings his spooky prowess to the small screen once again, trying his hand at adapting works from one of the greatest literary figures into a mysterious mini-series for Netflix.
The Fall of the House of Usher is a short story written by American playwright, poet, and novelist, Edgar Allan Poe. Like many of the writer's works, the story centres around Gothic and dark themes.
Flanagan's mini-series is also called The Fall of the House of Usher, but is based on numerous works from Poe, according to Deadline.com,
BOREAL Productions Inc. will commence filming on Tuesday (June 14) at 6 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Cathedral located at 646 Richards St. in Downtown Vancouver. Filming will continue through the night until 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.
There will be intermittent traffic control on the 400 block of Dunsmuir at various times throughout filming. The crew will film exterior scenes outside of the church from 7 to 10 p.m.
The film crew will return to repeat the same schedule Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.
Flanagan is known for several other popular horror TV shows and films, including Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, and Gerald's Game.
The Fall of the House of Usher is slated to drop on Netflix Canada in 2022.
