Disco Dumplings Happy Hour at Burdock & Co.
Disco Dumplings happy hour continues every Monday at 8 pm at this Main Street favourite. Throughout the evening, local DJs spin vinyls while an evolving menu showcases local beers and wines at a discounted price.

Le Tigre Truck Pop-Up “Parking” at Torafuku
When you run a successful restaurant and food truck, and your truck breaks down, what else is there to do but put your restaurant to work as a temporary lunch spot serving up your food truck eats. That’s exactly what’s happening right now as the Le Tigre food truck is using their sibling brick-and-mortar restaurant Torafuku as a “temporary parking” spot for a fun lunchtime pop-up. Order all your faves from the truck at the counter.

DownLow Burgers Pop-Up
It’s impossible to keep this a secret: The DownLow Chicken Shack has been morphing into a burger joint Monday nights since October 1. The menu currently consists of four core burgers, with weekly burger specials.

Vegan Drinks at Chickpea
Toast to a new year on the calendar and a new year of plant-based eating with a Vegan Drinks meet-up at Main Street's popular Chickpea restaurant.

Weathered Beer Celebration
Weathered is described as a “curated beer and art event,” all about “the extreme end of the spectrum” that will find attendees raising a few sample glasses to the finest flavours of the season. Organizers promise that even though “this is winter, and focus will be on the darkness,” you’ll still find a few nods to sunnier days with the inclusion of some farmhouse ales. $100; tickets available online

Gluten-Free Expo Vancouver 2019
Get everything you need to know--and eat--at Vancouver's annual Gluten-Free Expo. It's Canada's largest event of its kind. Roam the exhibit hall, connect with vendors and experts, and sample tons of foods. $12-39; tickets available online.

Fare: For the Human Right to Healthy Food
Eight of Vancouver’s most innovative chefs are banding together in support of the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House. This delicious and charitable evening will feature an extraordinary six-course collaboration dinner to be shared at Torafuku Asian Eatery, with proceeds from each ticket to benefit DTES Neighbourhood House’s healthy food programs. Joining Clement Chan of Torafuku will be Sandy Chen (Torafuku), Douglas Chang (Ai & Om Knives), Warren Chow (Juniper Kitchen & Bar), Jason Harris (Colette Grand Café), Will Lew (Notch 8 at The Hotel Vancouver), Colin Staus (Campagnolo) and Alessandro Vianello (chefvianello.com). $150; tickets available online

Seafood & Brews Dinner at Fanny Bay Oyster Bar
Executive Chef Chris Andraza curates a hand crafted four-course seafood menu to accompany some of the season’s best beers from Black Kettle Brewing, including an exclusive Fanny Bay Oyster Stout brewed just for this event. Noodle Mania
Feast on noodles from around the globe at several restaurants in Vancouver between Kitsilano, Cambie Village, Olympic Village, and Chinatown for the 6th annual noodle tasting extravaganza presented by Vancouver Foodster and Tasting Plates. Each restaurant will be serving up Tasting Bowls or Plates for guests to enjoy; sample noodles from chow mein to spaghetti to mac & cheese, pho, pad thai, ramen and more. Dine Out Vancouver Festival: Restaurants
Dine Out Vancouver will run January 18 to February 3, 2019–always a great time to kick those post-holidays blues out of the way, and get some great deals at local restaurants. Menus are priced at $15, $25, $35 and $45 per person plus beverages, taxes and gratuity. Lunches and brunches are also available at select restaurants, too.

Dine Out Vancouver Festival: Events
There are 28 awesome food and drink events happening as part of the Dine Out Vancouver Festival, in addition to the terrific prix-fixe menus at local restaurants. These culinary events include everything from wine pairing dinners to dessert how-tos, along with things like vodka tastings, wine and beer tours, dim sum gatherings, coffee tours, and more.

Hot Chocolate Festival
The month-long event is undoubtedly the sweetest way to count down to Valentine’s Day, as restaurants, cafes, and treat shops all around town come up with original cocoa concoctions and specials to please your sweet tooth.

Art of plant-based cheese making with Karen McAthy
Join Chef Karen McAthy, founder of Blue Heron, and author of The Art of Plant-based Cheese Making, in learning how to make cultured, fresh, vegan cheese. This four-class course (held over four days), is homework driven, focused on getting students to make their own vegan cheeses from growing cultures to easy ageing techniques. $200; register online.
