Ramen Kounotori is coming to Main Street in Vancouver, replacing the former Old Bird restaurant.

It looks like Vancouver's Old Bird is being replaced with a stork.

Ramen Kounotori is moving in at 3905 Main St sometime in the future, bringing bowls of brothy goodness to the Riley Park/Little Mountain area. The ramen spot replaces Old Bird, a modern Chinese restaurant, that closed up shop back in May after three years at the address.

Kounotori is the Japanese name for a species of stork found in Japan and eastern Asia.

Details are scarce about the newcomer; a business license for Kounotori was registered last month. However, the incoming restaurant doesn't yet have a web presence, either on social media or on food delivery apps like Uber Eats or Door Dash.

According to a job posting, Kounotori will be opening in August for lunch and dinner service.

It isn't the only ramen place coming to Vancouver this year; not far away at Broadway and Cambie Menya Juemon is opening later this year.
