The popular New York fast-casual restaurant, The Halal Guys, announced it was opening its first Vancouver location back in November 2022.
Founded in the 90s by three Egyptian immigrants, the started as a food cart before becoming a booming chain with numerous locations across the U.S., Asia, and the U.K. plus a Canadian location in Ontario.
The highly anticipated spot has been teasing Vancouverites for months and finally announced today (July 3) that it will be serving up falafel, chicken, and gyros at 570 Robson St starting July 15.
To celebrate the opening from 11 a.m. to midnight, the restaurant is offering multiple giveaways over the weekend (July 15-16). The first guest in line to purchase an entree on the Saturday will win a free The Halal Guys item for a month and the following 10 guests win a free platter for a week, and everyone who makes a purchase on opening weekend will be entered to win several grand prizes.
In addition to sandwiches and platters, The Halal Guys' signature menu of "authentic American Halal food" includes sweet treats like baklava and the infamous white sauce which they sell by the pouchful.
In a recent Instagram post detailing the opening, the restaurant thanked everyone for their "continued support and patience" saying, "We can’t wait to celebrate with you."
