Peaked Pies will soon have a second location in Vancouver.
The Australian savoury pie maker and café is opening its fourth location in 2025, according to signs at 732 West Broadway. Peaked Pies opened in Whistler in 2013, followed by its first Vancouver location in the West End at 975 Denman St. The business' third location opened in 2020 in Burnaby.
While pies in Canada are commonly considered a desert, Australian pies are a savoury variant that is always single-serving sized. On their site, Peaked Pies describes "peaked" pie as a savoury pie topped with a "peak" of mashed potatoes, mushy peas, and gravy.
Peaked Pies does have some sweet pies, but specializes in a variety of meat pies including breakfast pies (like the Ned Kelly which involves ground beef and ground bacon topped with egg and cheese) and lunch/dinner pies (like the traditional, which is ground beef, onion and gravy).
They offer their pies to eat in-house, as takeaway, or frozen (to be heated later). They also carry other sweet treats and coffees.
Previously, 732 W Broadway was home to a nail salon which closed in 2023.
