Last fall, Pie Hole owner Jenell Parsons opened her third Metro Vancouver location while processing the crushing news her landlord was terminating her lease at her Kitsilano shop.
"The timing was wild," Parsons told V.I.A. at the time.
With a March 2024 exit looming, Parsons and her staff at the1864 W 4th Ave bakery-café focused on the immediate future and the many pie-perfect holidays on the horizon.
Now, though, in a more positive instance of wild timing, Parsons says they've not only set a final day for business on West 4th Avenue but have also secured a nearby location to move to. The hope is for the Pie Hole to only be offline in the neighbourhood for a few weeks.
The last day of business for the Pie Hole on West 4th will be March 14, aka "Pi Day."
Pi Day is a treasured celebration for the Pie Hole, given their specialty is pies. It was also the date Parsons kept in mind as likely being her last at the shop she poured her heart and soul into for so long, including through the challenging pandemic years.
Parsons tells V.I.A. the Pie Hole will re-open this spring at 2959 W Broadway.
The space was the previous home of the seafood shop Fresh Ideas Start Here (F.I.S.H.).
V.I.A. will share more details about the new Pie Hole Vancouver location in the coming weeks. Pie lovers can follow @thepiehole on Instagram for the latest Pie Hole news.
