Port Moody's Hard Bean Brunch Co. began with a simple mission to serve pancakes for dinner alongside creative cocktails and other dishes - in case everyone wasn't feeling like breakfast at night.
On the menu is a range of dishes, from waffle-crusted wings to a brunch charcuterie board, along with burgers, salads, bowls, egg combos, and French Toast.
Hard Bean has enjoyed great success and popularity since its launch in spring 2022, but owner Heather Rhodes has what a restaurant rep describes as "a huge ambition" to open 10 locations within 10 years.
Plans are already underway to add two more to the roster, and both are in Metro Vancouver.
First up will be a new Hard Bean Brunch Co. restaurant in Langley, which is "currently under construction" and is on its way to opening its doors in mid-to-late October this fall. Situated at 20727 Willoughby Town Centre, the Langley Hard Bean will join another Metro Vancouver-based growing restaurant empire, Hi Five Fried Chicken at the development.
Once Langley is up and running, the Hard Bean team will get to work with their next location, which will be in Downtown Vancouver in Coal Harbour.
The Waterfront Hard Bean Brunch Co. is taking over the space at 909 W Cordova St, which previously was home to the reboot of Don Francesco and, before that, Hapa Izakaya.
A rep for the restaurant indicates the hope is to open up Hard Bean Brunch Co. in Vancouver's Waterfront area in April or May of 2024.
Beyond the Vancouver launch, Rhodes is already looking to Kelowna for a fourth location of the all-day brunch (and more) restaurant concept.
