There's about to be one more location of Big Way Hot Pot in Metro Vancouver for all your self-serve build-your-own hot pot needs, as Big Way gears up to shift its highly-anticipated UBC outpost into soft open mode.
Big Way Hot Pot has had the UBC location in the works for the past several months. The restaurant is located at 2155 Allison Rd #222 at UBC in Vancouver and will open to the public on March 1, 2025.
The self-serve hot pot chain launched in 2021 and now operates several locations in Metro Vancouver. The UBC Big Way Hot Pot will be the local brand's 10th in the region. They also have a restaurant in Scarborough, Ontario, and have two in development in Los Angeles County in the U.S. along with even more in Metro Vancouver (Lougheed, Langley, Gilmore) and in Victoria, B.C.
Big Way's build-your-own hot pot concept finds guests loading up their bowls from a massive ingredient wall, featuring about 100 components, from noodles and veggies to seafood and meats. Diners then move to the till where the order is weighed and sent to the kitchen with a choice of 10 specialty broths.
Guests can assemble their own condiment dishes from the sauce bar while waiting for their steaming bowl of customized soup to land on their table. To finish: soft serve ice cream.
The UBC Big Way Hot Pot will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., making it a great spot for late-night eats on campus.
