The first Vancouver location of Quebec-based chocolate café Cacao 70 has closed, at 1047 Denman Street in the West End.
Opened in early 2017, this Cacao 70 marked the start of a major expansion for the chain, and this particular location boasted their "Eatery" concept, offering chocolate-centric sweets, desserts, and brunch and breakfast fare.
The restaurant is marked "permanently closed" on its Facebook page, and no longer appears as a location on the Cacao 70 website.
The Denman Cacao 70 Eatery had been listed for sale for some time; the sibling Cacao 70 "Sweet House" on Granville Street is currently listed for sale.
In addition to the Sweet House at 738 Granville St., Cacao 70 operates a Sweet House at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, and a "Dippery" ice cream shop each in Richmond's Steveston Village and Vancouver's Gastown.
