A Canadian restaurant chain is moving into Metro Vancouver, and not with just one or two new locations, but four.
Twisted Indian has four locations listed as "Opening Soon!!" on the Ontario-based chain's website, with two in Vancouver and two in Surrey.
In Vancouver, the two locations are 69 Kingsway and 3690 E Hastings St. and both have signs up.
The Kingsway restaurant is in Mount Pleasant, while the East Hastings outpost is in a new build at the Burnaby border at Boundary.
The Surrey locations will be at 15180 96 Ave and 5717 152 St.
The chain is already well established in Ontario, where it has over a dozen locations. Two others are open in Alberta.
'Indian Fusion food that is inherently mild and healthy' on the menu
With a menu focused on Indian fusion street food, Twisted Indian offers Indian flavours with the spiciness toned down; the company states that Indian food is often so hot "not everyone can enjoy that spice level" and that "Indian food can be enjoyed mild as well."
"Twisted Indian (as the name suggests) was created to serve Indian Fusion food that is inherently mild and healthy," reads the Twisted Indian website.
Twisted Indian also aims to bring a healthy option to Vancouver.
"With the rise in obesity and cancer, there needed to be a better alternative to processed foods. Foods that were hurting the health of Canadians," reads the Twisted Indian site.
The Twisted Indian menu includes items like rice bowls, burgers and chaat (savoury snacks).
No dates have been shared for the restaurants' openings.
