Nightlife isn't what it was before COVID-19, but that doesn't mean we still can't get out and enjoy some top-tier tipples. Now there's a new cocktail bar concept about to shake things up when it comes to clinking glasses in the era of social distancing.
Called Chickadee, the pop-up is featuring a fun "choose-your-own-cocktail" program, and it will take place in the dining room of Juke Fried Chicken in Chinatown.
Launching Friday, June 12, Chickadee is the latest project from Juke's Justin Tisdall and Chef Bryan Satterford, and Juke Bar Manager Sabrine Dhaliwal.
Chickadee will welcome small groups of guests who can pick their poison, so to speak, using an online platform and downloadable app. Select your spirit, or take their dealer's choice for a spin based on your preferred style, be it neat and smoky or stirred and sweet.
The award-winning Dhaliwal has come up with some exciting drinks for the Chickadee menu, like Golden Sunset (Flor de Caña 5yr rum, turmeric coconut cream, pineapple juice, lime juice) and Globetrotter (Wild Turkey bourbon, green Chartreuse, charred pineapple, galangal, lime bitters, Ardbeg rinse), among others.
You can balance out the drinks with eats from Juke's takeout counter, which will be available to Chickadee guests (and still available for takeout and delivery).
Inside Chickadee, cocktail lovers can sip safely, thanks to protocols in place in accordance with BC’s Phase Two reopening protocols, including the installation of movable partitions between guests and staff, constant sanitizing of common-touch areas, bar tools and terminals and use of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves and face shields at all times.
Chickadee (popping up inside Juke) is located at 182 Keefer Street in Vancouver
