China-based Molly Tea is opening its first B.C. location in Richmond.

A new China-based tea store focusing on "all things Jasmine" is opening its first location on Canada's West Coast.

Molly Tea, a Shenzhen-based brand, is joining the bubble tea and drink market in Richmond's Union Square Shopping Centre, according to the brand's Little Red Book post.

The brand focuses on the "essence of floral aroma" and was inspired by the "Four White Flowers of the East," according to Molly Tea's website.

These flowers are plum blossom, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum and are highly valued in Chinese art and culture, each representing different virtues.

Molly Tea is well-known for its premium Jasmine milk tea, but its menu also offers other floral milk teas like osmanthus, gardenia and peach oolong.

There are also cream frappe drinks like the snowy Jasmine and snowy Gardenia teas topped with whipped cream.

Molly Tea also offers oat milk tea series.

An opening date and an exact unit location have yet to be announced.
