Grains Fish Noodle, a Chinese restaurant chain with three locations elsewhere in Metro Vancouver, recently opened its doors to its first outpost in Vancouver proper.
Located at 2427 Kingsway, the restaurant is known for its simple menu of "fish and grains" noodle soup, rice bowls, rice rolls, and congee.
The noodles are made with a blend of five grains (millet, corn, rice, sorghum, and buckwheat) and served in a fish-based broth with a selection of toppings.
Dishes on the soup noodles menu include their Original Fish Soup, Hot & Sour Soup, Spicy Pumpkin, and a House Special (spicy green chili sauce, sliced fish and tofu with vegetables). You can build your own rice bowl as well, or opt for sides like spicy cold cucumber salad or spicy garlic chicken wings.
The Vancouver location of Grains Fish Noodle opened for business in December 2023, welcoming diners with warming bowls of soup as winter got underway.
The space is on the ground floor of a mixed-use building constructed between 2018 and 2021. Grains Fish Noodle first placed signage in the restaurant space in 2022 to promote its arrival at the Vancouver address.
The Grains Fish Noodle concept is similar to something called "Five Grains Noodle," which has over 4,000 locations in China, and two franchises in the U.S.
Locally, Grains Fish Noodle also operates two locations in Richmond (160-8191 Westminster Hwy and 1060-No.3 Road) and one in Burnaby (2119-4500 Kingsway). They are on Instagram @grainsfishnoodle.
