The fiery Nashville Hot Chicken sandwiches from Commercial Drive's new-ish DownLow Chicken Shack might be the best thing between two buns in Vancouver right now...except now the masterminds behind the restaurant are adding on another dimension: DownLow Burgers.
Teasing their Classic Smash Burger on Instagram, DownLow Burgers isn't going to be a secret much longer.
Actually, if you've followed the trajectory of Merchant's Workshop, and its proprietors, Doug Stephen and Lindsey Mann, their burgers are no real secret. Much like their Hot Chicken--which used to be a more hush-hush item, as Stephen explained on the V.I.A. Podcast--Merchant's often put together some epic burgers that customers loved.
Looks like right now the plan is to have the burgers pop-up style at the DL Chicken Shack, on Mondays, starting October 1.
That Classic Smash, by the way, looks pretty epic. It's got Two Rivers dry-aged ground beef, Canadian cheddar, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and onions served on Livia Sweets Potato Bun.
Stay tuned for more meaty details!
