A local cafe specializing in Chinese, Asian fusion, and Hong Kong-style dishes has closed, but the kitchen won't be shut down for long.
Moon Cafe, which was located at 1097 Kingsway for a couple of years, recently quietly closed its doors. The restaurant had previously been located on Fraser Street, where it started in 2010.
In posts on its Google page, the owner stated they closed to spend more time with their children.
Replacing it will be The Madras Diaries, according to a sign posted out front, which describes it as "India's Grill Kitchen" and promises the new restaurant will be opening soon. It's unclear if The Madras Diaries has an online presence yet.
Before it was Moon Cafe, 1097 Kingsway was the longtime home to a different Chinese restaurant called Ken's Kitchen.
