Just before the year closes out, so will service at East Vancouver's VV Tapas Lounge.
The restaurant announced Dec. 5, 2023, via a media release, that the Strathcona wine and tapas bar will host its final service on Saturday, December 23.
However, the team will then shift focus to re-launching the space at 957 E Hastings St as a new concept, slated to debut in early 2024.
VV Tapas Lounge opened in 2019, offering the neighbourhood an elegant, modern spot for cocktails, happy hour, dinner, and weekend brunch.
“We want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has supported us in our journey and hope to see as many familiar faces as possible in the days leading up to our last service,” said Operations Manager and Sommelier Chase MacLeod. “It’s definitely a bittersweet moment for us, but we’re excited to regroup and re-introduce our friends, fans and neighbours to a whole new concept in the same space in the new year.”
Head Chef Zach Poole will serve VV Tapas Lounge's menu of fan favourites from its four-year run through to closing day just ahead of Christmas. The restaurant's current menu includes farm-to-table dishes and winter comfort eats, like a Beet Panzanella or Wild Mushroom Risotto.
Additionally, in the lead-up to the holidays and before closing, VV Tapas Lounge's space will be available for private parties, including seated gatherings of up to 45 people or stand-up cocktail parties of up to 70.
