Nearly a year in the works, and now it's finally open: The revamped food court space at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Richmond is up and running.

The space features three brands all under the umbrella of Calgary's, 98 Food CoDirtbellyChachi's, and Hula Poke,

While Metro Vancouver is already home to outposts of both sandwich spot Chachi's and Hula Poke, this is the first Dirtbelly location in B.C.

Dirtbelly is known for their "grown up veg, for grown up taste buds" menu of salads that feature fresh produce and Ocean Wise-certified seafood. They serve grain bowls, composed salads, mix-and-match salads by the scoop, and are a Mealshare partner - which means for each of a designated dish purchased, a meal is provided to a local youth in need.

Initially plans had been for 98 Food Co. to include an outpost of their Deville Coffee. However, the coffee shop brand is still actively seeking opportunities to franchise in the Vancouver area.

The new "food hall" space, called the Food Folk Eatery, at the high-end outlet mall has previously served as a food court under different iterations since the launch of phase I of the shopping centre, though initially when the shopping centre opened, it was run like a pop-up marketplace, with several vendors coming and going over the years.

The venue has been completely built out to house the four concepts as a unified "food hall."

Slated to debut this February, the Food Folk Eatery opened just in time for the Canada Day holiday - and amid the COVID-19 pandemic, so distancing measures and enhanced safety protocols are in place.

The Food Folk Eatery is located at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, 1000-7899 Templeton Station Rd in Richmond.
