Something new is afoot at Heritage Asian Eatery's original Coal Harbour location. The downtown restaurant has recently undergone a revamp and is set to debut a new interior look and its first-ever cocktail menu.
Heritage opened its doors back in 2016 at 1108 W Pender St, offering a casual pan-Asian menu with counter-service in the 40-seat space.
Starting Sept. 19, however, the original Heritage will welcome guests into the refreshed space boasting an interior style inspired by Old Shanghai.
To go with the colourful and engaging new look, Heritage Asian Eatery's Coal Harbour location is now also home to a cocktail bar with an exciting new drinks menu.
Custom cocktails available include options like the Guadalajara San, an exotic mix of blanco tequila, plum Umeshu, fresh lemon juice, green tea syrup, and Whiskey barrel bitters; the Berry Fraiche, a bright blend of strawberry-infused vodka, fresh lemon juice, and Thai basil syrup; the Dragòn del Mercado, featuring watermelon infused mezcal, Amaro Montenegro, Aperol, and Hoja santa bitters; and the Cold Fuchsia’n, a fruit-forward mix of blackberry-infused gin, pineapple, fresh lemon juice, and apricot liqueur.
With a drinks menu comes Happy Hour, which Heritage on Pender will offer daily from 3 to 6 p.m., featuring discounts on food favourites like wings, XLB, Truffle Siu Mai, Fried Cauliflower, Black Sesame Balls and more, alongside specially-priced drinks.
“This is the first time we’ve offered beer, wine or cocktails at either location,” said owner Paul Zhang. “It adds a new element to the Heritage experience and we’re so excited for this next evolution. We know our guests will enjoy pairing new and classic dishes with their choice of alcoholic and zero-proof beverages.”
Heritage, at both its Pender and Broadway locations (382 W Broadway), is known for its menu of modern takes on Asian comfort classics, including dumplings, small plates, soups, rice and noodle dishes, and meaty mains like roast duck, BBQ pork belly, and crispy chicken.
