The West End address that was until recently home to a cherished neighbourhood greasy spoon is now starting a new chapter as a Mexican restaurant.

Holy Guacamole, which describes itself as a "new retail fast food Mexican restaurant," is prepping to launch at 805 Denman Street, in the space that served as The Spot Café for nearly two decades.

The Spot, a no frills mom and pop diner, closed their doors in October 2019 after a 17-year run.

While Holy Guacamole indicates they intend to be "your place to gather with your friends and enjoy some of the best drinks around," it appears the plan is to launch with take-out and delivery service due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their menu includes standard casual Mexican fare like tacos, burritos, and nachos, as well as sandwiches (tortas), salads, soups, and breakfast dishes.

We've reached out to Holy Guacamole to get more details about their launch and restaurant. Follow them on Facebook for updates.
