IHOP, the International House of Pancakes recently announced that it was changing its name to IHOb.
The American diner chain kept the public in suspense for days as to what the 'b' in the new name could mean and the company has revealed that that 'b' is for burgers.
IHOb’s ‘The Classic’
IHOb will offer seven new "Ultimate Steakburgers" with names like Big Brunch, Cowboy BBQ, Jalapeno Kick, Mushroom & Swiss, The Classic, The Classic with Bacon and Mega Monster.
“We felt like the best way to convince them [the public] that we are as serious about our new line of Ultimate Steakburgers as we are about our pancakes, was to change our name to IHOb,” says Brad Haley, Chief Marketing Officer for IHOb restaurants in a release.
The company hints that the name change is just "for the time being" but it's clear that IHOb will now be serving burgers all day long.
IHOP was founded in 1958 in California but has 10 locations in the Lower Mainland including one in Vancouver, Richmond, New Westminster, Langley, Surrey, Port Coquitlam White Rock, Abbotsford and two locations in Burnaby.
