When vegetarian pizza spot Pizzeria Grano closed its doors earlier this year, owners Dom and Frank Morra held onto the space (and have continued to offer a pared-down Grano menu for take-out) and have now revealed their plans for the restaurant at 3240 Main St: A second location of their popular Via Tevere.
Via Tevere has been a staple on Victoria Drive in East Van for over a decade and is known for its Neapolitan-style pizzas.
The Morras also own Caffe Soccavo on Commercial Drive, which now houses slice shop Don't Argue, a resurrection of the brand that once called 3240 Main St home itself, albeit before the Morras took over the location and, earlier this year, the Don't Argue banner.
With former Grano general manager Katie Mantei at the helm, Via Tevere Main Street will feature 32 indoor seats in addition to two outdoor spaces: a 12-seat side patio and another 12-seat curbside patio, according to a media release.
Fans of Grano will be happy to know that alongside Via Tevere's menu of pizza, salads, and simple pasta dishes, the Main Street location will also have some of Grano's plant-forward menu items available.
Additionally, Pizzeria Grano's menu will continue to be available online for pickup or delivery via UberEats.
The second Via Tevere is expected to open in late May 2024 and will operate Tuesday to Sunday from 4 p.m. until late.
