Richmond's Paragon Tea Room has limited snowflake nougat treats for Lunar New Year.

Richmond is never short of food and drinks and it's no different when it comes to Lunar New Year-themed eats and treats.

Whether you're looking for small bite snacks, pastries, or cakes, there is something sweet for everyone to ring in the Year of the Snake that is approaching on Jan. 29.

Yandoux Patisserie

A Chinese New Year-themed afternoon tea set is available. The menu includes savouries such as Japanese miso-glazed sablefish, salmon oshi sushi and truffle mushroom crostini, to white rabbit candy, and ingot-shaped sweets.

Each afternoon tea set comes with a refillable pot of tea. Reservations are required for their Richmond location inside Versante Hotel.

Daan Go Cake Lab

Four Lunar New Year-themed treats are being offered including cakes and macarons this year at DaanGo.

A new design for the Year of the Snake is the "fortune pouch" cake that comes in mango cheesecake, Vietnamese coffee or Hong Kong milk tea mousse flavours and is decorated like a red money bag with a gold ingot and a snake macaron.

Returning from last year is the Lunar celebration pig cake and the lucky citrus cake shaped like an orange with a red spring couplet wishing good luck for the new year made with orange cognac gel, vanilla yogurt mousse and orange-brown butter ganache.

Daan Go also has a limited-time Lunar New Year macaron set.

Paragon Tea Room

Paragon is known for its tea, but for Lunar New Year they are partnering with Soup Premier to create a limited edition Lunar New Year snowflake nougat treat.

The Taiwanese treat is traditionally made with marshmallows, crackers, nuts and fruits and the Paragon treat will be using Paragon teas and B.C.-grown freeze-dried strawberries.

Individually packed nougats are sold in three flavours: strawberry matcha, strawberry jasmine and strawberry earl grey with 20 pieces per pack.

Online orders were sold out within a few hours of release, but there are still limited walk-in orders for customers.

L'otus Cake Boutique

The long-time Richmond cake shop has a six-piece mousse cake set for pre-order specifically made for the Year of the Snake. The cakes come in various shapes including an orange, koi fish, tanghulu stick and a snake.

The cakes from L'otus can be pre-ordered and picked up at both Richmond and Burnaby locations from Jan. 25 to 29.

Little Fox Bakehouse

The bakery inside President Plaza in Richmond has four Lunar New Year special treats including gluten-free macarons and pastry boxes filled with half-size croissants in pineapple and nian gao flavours, a KitKat, chocolate assorted nuts tart, white rabbit donut, croissant egg tart, and a canele.

Aside from baked pastries, Little Fox also has a four-inch chocolate strawberry mousse cake with snake and red macarons.
