A new late-night snack shop is now open on the Granville Strip offering everything from Tandoori chicken cheesesteak sandwiches to six-cheese pizzas to halal smash burgers.
Cheese Slap opened earlier this month at 925 Granville St., next to Studio and across the road from the Vogue theatre. Previously, the space wasn't food-related at all, but the home to a cell phone repair business.
The newly renovated restaurant now offers a variety of eat-in or take-out foods from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. daily. The menu focuses on casual American dishes with halal options and Indian flavours.
While there are plenty of straightforward options, like halal smash burgers, pepperoni pizzas and ice cream cones, there are also items like an aloo tikki burger, Philly cheese steak poutine, and a pesto and pineapple pizza.
