Every sandwich on the menu takes its cue from an international destination.

Vancouver has a new-ish sandwich shop, and every sandwich on the menu takes its cue from a global destination.

Inspired by the city's multiculturalism and vibrant food scene, the International Sandwich Factory at 1086 West Broadway packs its menu with flavours from around the world.

Travel east in Canada to Quebec for the Lumberjack, which offers Montreal-style smoked meat on a sesame bagel with maple mayo, or go south for "La Torta," a Mexican-style pork sandwich. There's a ham and cheese on a croissant, which gives the nod to France, while the "Bruce Lee" mashes up pan-Asian flavours with its bao bun and poke-inspired tuna.

Sandwich lovers can also choose from options drawn from popular ingredients from Spain, Italy, and New York City. And, of course, there's their take on a Cubano.

In addition to their United Nations of sandwiches, the International Sandwich Factory's menu includes some salads, coffee and tea beverages, and baked goods and treats.

Opened late last year, the International Sandwich Factory is located in Fairview and right by Vancouver General Hospital, perfect for workers in the area to grab a bite.
