Quantum Coffee takes their brews seriously. The Toronto-born coffee shop just officially opened their doors in downtown Vancouver October 5th, inside the new BrainStation campus, and their brewing philosophy will make java junkies jump for joy.
The minimalist space features window, table, and communal seating, and their terse menu includes drip coffee, espresso drinks, cold brew, teas and tea drinks, as well as their state-of-the-art pour over brewed coffees, showcasing their own single-origin beans.
When it comes to their pour overs, things get super nerdy. Quantum uses the Poursteady machine, which was designed by robotics engineers to make the most efficient and quality-tasting cup of brewed coffee--and it's all automated. It's pretty damn mesmerizing to watch the nozzle rotate and swiftly and evenly distribute the water over carefully measured grounds, which then drips steadily into a waiting cup.
If you like a little something to eat with your bev, Quantum's pasty case is filled with treats they source from local vendors like East Village Bakery, Cadeaux Bakery, and the Gluten-Free Epicurean. Look for eats like croissants, muffins, and cookies, with plenty of vegan and dairy-free options, too.
Just a year after Quantum debuted in Toronto they revealed they'd be headed west to Canada's third-wave coffee touchpoint; the company is all about creating a "cohesive hub for the creative and digital minds of the city to meet, mingle and learn."
Oh, and it's great if you just like great coffee, too.
Quantum Coffee is located at 455 Granville Street.
