The West End is losing a slice shop before the month is up.
City Square Pizza announced Thursday, Nov. 21 that it will be closing its doors permanently next week.
The business says its final day of operation will be Friday, November 29.
"This decision was not made lightly, and we are deeply grateful for the support and trust you have shown us over the years," shared operators on City Square's Instagram feed.
"We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful customers, employees, and the community for being part of our journey. It has been a privilege to serve you."
City Square Pizza opened its doors in the spring of 2022.
The West End BIA calls the Roman-style pizza shop at 1112 Davie St a "local gem," and adds in a social media post composed as a thank-you note to the business: "We’re so grateful for the joy, flavour, and connection you’ve brought to Davie Street and beyond."
Roman pizza, often referred to as "pizza al taglio" (pizza by the slice or "cut,") is prepared in sheets and is often cut into strips or squares.
City Square's menu includes options like classic pepperoni and Mexican chicken and veggie pizzas like mushroom or four cheese, with a handful of vegan options, too.
