Did somebody say pizza?
Vancouver's Luppolo Brewing will be welcoming a couple of the city's most engaging culinarians for a fun limited-run pizza pop-up this summer.
From June 24 to July 3, chef pals Doug Stephen (DL Chicken, Vennie's, Downlow Burgers) and Colin Staus (Big Day BBQ, Campagnolo) will be operating Sunday Pies Pizza Co. at the brewery.
“Colin and I have wanted to work together on a new project for a while since Big Day BBQ,” says Stephen in a media release. “Luppolo has a great pizza oven, and there was an opportunity for us to create fun pies for a limited time as Luppolo’s main pizzaiola is taking a vacation for a few weeks."
They'll be calling in the troops - as in their local chef pals - for some fun collaborations.
Over the course of the pop-up, those guest chefs will come in with their own feature pie creations, including pizzas from Juke’s Bryan Satterford, Beta5’s Adam Chandler, Top Rope Birria and Flying Elbow’s Kevin McKenzie, and the nationally top-ranked Published on Main’s Gus Stieffenhofer-Brandson.
And of course, you know Stephen will be mixing in some of his infamous chicken and burgers flair for some pizza fun.
Sunday Pies Pizza Co.'s eight pizza options (from $18) include:
● Margarita - SP Tomato Sauce, Fior Di Latte, Basil
● Big Pep’ - SP Tomato Sauce, Smoked Mozza, Roni Cups, Oregano
● Meat’Za - SP Tomato Sauce, Salami, Spicy Sausage, Roni, Chili Flakes
● Quattro - SP Tomato Sauce, Mozza, Scamorza, Curds, Parm
● Farmer - Caramelized Zucchini, Fior di Latte, Marks Veggies
● Mortadella - Pistachio Pesto, Morty, Arugula, Preserved Lemon
● Bamma - Stracciatella, Smoked Chicken, Mozza, Bamma Driz
● Patat - Stracciatella, Taleggio, Shaved Potatoes, Prosciutto
Sides include olives, burrata, meatballs, baked wings, and two salads. The pop- up will also have Beta5's famous ice cream sandwiches available for purchase.
Naturally, since you're at Luppolo, you may be interested in their taps for some fresh craft brews, but the tasting room also offers kombucha, Italian sodas, coffee, and ginger beer, as well as wine and cider.
