We don't have Uber, but at least Vancouver can now say we have UberEATS.
The ride service launched its food delivery branch in Vancouver at 10 am on Tuesday, joining the fray of existing options currently operating in the city.
Currently UberEATS' site is showing 88 participating restaurants, ranging from Subway to La Mezcaleria, and including all sorts of mostly casual spots specializing in poké, salads, juices, sandwiches, BBQ, burgers, and more, though their media release indicates they have 130 restaurant partners in Vancouver.
Delivery times range from 10 to 40 minutes, depending on the vendor, and at the moment the delivery zone is very (very) limited: Downtown Vancouver, East of Blenheim Street, North of 33rd Avenue, West of Nanaimo Street.
"We are very excited to bring UberEATS to Vancouver," said Dan Park, General Manager, UberEATS Canada. "With local favorites like Glory Juice Co., Vera’s Burger Shack and Juke, UberEATS offers a wide-selection of food options, all conveniently available in one place and delivered fast and fresh."
To get started, you'll need to download the UberEATS app, and then give it a whirl--if you aren't still boycotting them after that free ice cream fiasco back in August.
