High-end Singapore-based tea retailer TWG Tea has closed up its boutique and salon operation in Downtown Vancouver in preparation to scale back and slide into new digs on Robson.
TWG Tea was located at 1070 West Georgia Street, and sold hundreds of the company's luxurious tea blends in colourful signature packaging. The venue also featured a tea room that offered a modern take on afternoon tea service, along with treats like macarons, seasonal themed menus, and ambitious plated meals.
The location closed permanently in mid-June and will be re-opening later this year at 929 Robson Street, according to Retail Insider. TWG says they hope to have the new space open in November, ahead of the holiday shopping season.
The new TWG Tea shop will be taking up residence in the space that had previously been a Tesla showroom, and a skincare retailer before that.
In Canada, Vancouver's Vansing Distribution Group is the exclusive franchise partner and distributor of TWG Tea. They initially operated the high-ceilinged Georgia Street space as Urban Tea Merchant before signing on with TWG.
Though customers are currently unable to shop in person, TWG Tea Canada is still able to do online orders.
