Vancouver's Strathcona Beer Company has teamed up with popular local bodega Dank Mart to release a beer that can mostly be described as sweet. Real sweet.
The release of their Blue Candy Ale was on Friday, March 4, and along with it a pop-up shop inside the brewery.
For the next two weeks, Dank Mart will be selling their exotic snacks at the Strathcona Beer Company's tasting room (895 E Hastings) as part of the collaboration.
The beer itself is, as mentioned, sweet. While they describe it as "slightly sweet," the blueberry, peach and raspberry notes are where it begins, and it ends with actual Belgian candy sugar added.
It is in fact very sweet, in more ways than one, as it tastes more like a juice than a 5% ABV beer. It's available at the brewery and at select liquor stores across BC, Alberta, and Manitoba.
