Things are going to heat up this summer across Vancouver, but these two new self-guided food fests will help you keep your cool.
Organized by local food publication Noms Magazine, the two events will run concurrently from June 21 to July 31.
The Vancouver Ice Cream Festival is themed around cool treats like ice cream, gelato, and shaved while the Vancouver Summer Sips Festival is all about cold beverages, like iced tea or coffee or even cocktails.
Both DIY festivals work much like the city's popular wintertime Hot Chocolate Festival, where people can choose from a lineup of participating cafes, restaurants, and treat shops to go on their own taste-venture, trying out the special creations sold during the festival run.
The Vancouver Ice Cream Festival will feature sweet creations from over 15 places across the region Beta5, Passione Gelato, and Elephant Garden Creamery in Vancouver and Glenburn Soda Fountain in Burnaby, among many others.
Meanwhile, the Vancouver Summer Sips Festival's participants include places like Trafiq, Pallet Coffee, and Wicked Cafe - there are over 25 places lined up to take part.
Details about the specific treats and drinks available for the festivals will be shared closer to the events' launches in June.
