Ramen One lasted just one year on West Broadway.
The little ramen shop at 433 West Broadway entered the market in the spring of 2024 advertising bowls of the Japanese noodle dish starting at just $10.
Though the pricing didn't stick around after its soft open, its premise was noteworthy, as it offered dining in individual booths with pass-through service from the kitchen.
Now, almost exactly a year after opening, the restaurant's closure has been announced.
"After much thought and a difficult decision, we have made the choice to close Ramen One," reads a post on Ramen One's social media.
Ramen One's last day of service will be Sunday, May 19.
"We’re so grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us in this short but meaningful journey," reads the post.
Ramen One opened on May 1, 2024, in a neighbourhood flush with ramen restaurants, including the former Menya Juemon (which pivoted to an onigiri shop) in October of 2024.
Ramen One replaced a Subway franchise that closed due to Broadway Subway construction adjacent to the restaurant space.
It is not clear what the Ramen One closure means for 404 Coffee, the café biz that operates solely from a window along West Broadway that's part of the Japanese restaurant's space.
