'We’ve loved serving you': Vancouver restaurant closes after 17 years on Main Street

It survived a fire and the pandemic, but has now closed

Since 2007, Grub has been a part of Main Street's vibrant food scene.

Located at 4328 Main St. near the intersection with East 28 Avenue, the restaurant survived a devastating fire in 2013 and the pandemic in more recent years. On Oct. 28, 2024, the business closed permanently.

"Thank you for 17 years of support, we’ve loved serving you," reads a message on Grub's Instagram, which saw dozens of replies lamenting the decision.

Offering a varied dinner menu that included everything from sablefish to duck breast, Grub was also a popular brunch option in the neighbourhood.

The restaurant was the venture of local chef/owner Ling Zheng. The menu was largely influenced by a partnership with a family friend who owns farming land in Langley.
