Vancouver waterfront restaurant closes after less than one year

Signs for the old restaurant have been uncovered

Kalamish has closed its location on False Creek after less than a year.

One of False Creek's newest restaurants is already shuttered.

Located at 617 Stamp's Landing, Kalamish opened at the beginning of 2024, but it didn't quite make it to a new calendar year.

The Turkish-Mediterranean restaurant took over the spot from Branas, a Mediterranean grill. In fact, the signs for Branas are once again visible as the Kalamish signs have come down and the windows have been papered up.

It appears ownership made no announcement that the restaurant was closing. However, the social media accounts have stopped posting, the website has been shutdown, and it's listed as closed on Google. While online reservations are still open, many have commented that they arrived to find the restaurant closed.

Kalamish was a new concept from the owners of Simit Bakery; earlier this year Simit shut down its location on Broadway; ownership cited construction as the issue.
