Vancouverites will soon have to say ciao to Chau's chow.
Chau Veggie Express will be shutting down both locations, according to a post on Instagram; they have a sit-down restaurant at 5052 Victoria Dr. and a space inside the Granville Island Public Market.
Founded in 2011, the family-run restaurant focuses on vegetarian Vietnamese dishes.
This weekend, on Nov. 10, the Chau announced on social media that they are closing down. Currently, they are still offering takeout at both locations, but that's going to wrap up in mid-January (about two months from now).
"Our family would like to take this time to reflect on how to best move forward," write the owners on Instagram. "Our plan is to visit the tiny Indonesian island where our family landed after escaping Vietnam in 1978 to pray and honour loved ones we have lost there."
