After four years on West 4th, Castaway Bar and Grill appears to have shuttered permanently.
The pub at 3293 W 4th Ave. closed permanently recently, though no announcement was made on social media. However, the restaurant is currently listed as "permanently closed" on Google and the space appears to be under renovation.
At the same time, a real estate listing for the business was posted online; Castaway was being sold for $99,000. The listing notes that the lease is expiring and the gross rent for the space was more than $15,500 per month.
The regular trivia night at Castaway has also moved to the Wolf and Hound, and Full Pint Comedy announced its last show was Dec. 12.
Castaway was known as a neighbourhood stop for beer and tacos.
Previously the space has been Blenheim, Displace, nevermind, Fogg, N' Suds, and Steer and Stein.
