CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders continued their impressive comeback season Monday with a 28-7 victory over the Edmonton Elks in the Labour Day Classic. Quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. threw a touchdown pass to Dominque Rhymes.

REGINA — The Saskatchewan Roughriders have stressed the importance of making the right play at the right time this season. On Sunday, Tevaughn Campbell did just that.

CALGARY — All-star linebacker Adam Bighill makes his Calgary Stampeders debut one year after a serious knee injury that ultimately landed him with a new CFL club.

REGINA — Discipline will be a key point of focus for the Saskatchewan Roughriders when they face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday. The 6-4 Bombers enter the contest with the CFL’s top rushing offence, at 119.

Kordell Jackson and the Edmonton Elks are playing winning football just in time for their Labour Day clash with the Calgary Stampeders. Edmonton (4-6) rides a three-game win streak into its road contest Monday versus Calgary (7-3).

WINNIPEG — Willie Jefferson is sipping from the fountain of youth these days. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive lineman is still competing at a high level in his 11th CFL season — and moving up in the league’s record book.

TORONTO — The Toronto Argonauts signed quarterback Max Duggan, defensive lineman Joe Wallace and offensive lineman Dre Doiron on Wednesday. Duggan and Wallace are Americans while Doiron is Canadian.
