Charges have been laid by Surrey RCMP in connection to a series of incidents and collisions that allegedly occurred in Surrey and Delta on Saturday night.

RCMP say 38-year-old Harinder Singh Sihota has been charged with numerous offences including: break and enter, three counts of assault, fail to stop and dangerous operation of a conveyance.

On Saturday, Sept. 16, at approximately 10:38 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report that a man broke into a residence in the 10400-block of 125 Street, assaulted persons inside the home and fled in a vehicle. The suspect and victims were known to each other.

Frontline officers attended the residence and made patrols for the vehicle in the area. While on scene, the suspect vehicle returned and collided with multiple parked vehicles prior to fleeing.

At approximately 11 p.m., the suspect vehicle was involved in multiple collisions in Delta along Ladner Trunk Road. One vehicle flipped as a result of the collision and the three occupants were transported to hospital, one with serious life-threatening injuries.

Delta Police responded to the incidents that occurred in their jurisdiction.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has assumed conduct of these investigations from the DPD as a portion of the overall series of events.

At approximately 11:14 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report that a vehicle was on fire in the 8200-block of 128 Street. Police quickly arrived on scene and located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle.

The driver had fled the vehicle on foot and was arrested by police a short distance away.

The investigation continues and is being led by the Surrey RCMP CCIT.

Investigators are working to determine a complete timeline of the incidents which resulted in several collisions in Surrey and Delta, damage to numerous vehicles, and serious injuries to one vehicle occupant.

Anyone with information or dash camera footage who has not yet spoken to investigators is asked to contact the CCIT at 604-599-0502.
